Each title in this series of exhibitions contains a reference to our perception of the urban landscape. The term ‘Milk’ refers to the basic primal need of humanity, like all mammals, to feed off their creators, while symbolizing an industrialized primitive concept. In his works, the result is often restricted to glimpses of a residue, an unevenness, left behind as a distant memory, usually on a cold, hard surface.
Such a primal instinct serves as a demarcation point of our environment and its observation, and ‘Milk/Infinity’ constitutes the start of a lexicon of shapes, surfaces, and reflections of urban and architectural elements, in a mostly abstract expressionist cadre.
Xochicotta is a Belgium-based artist who has participated in several national exhibitions in which he earned multiple awards. His work can be found in private collections in different countries like in the Netherlands, USA, France, England, Germany and of course Belgium itself.
